Vaio-Pocket VGF-AP1 will go on sale in Japan early next month, with no plans yet for a worldwide launch.

The Vaio-Pocket VGF-AP1 is larger and heavier than Apple iPod.  However, it features a 2.2-inch colour display, which can be used to view images or show an image of the CD cover that is currently playing.  The VGF-AP1's battery life is twenty hours which  more than double's the iPod claim of eight hours.  Expect to pay 53,500 yen.

One thing that I really don't like about any Sony MP3 players is that it is compatible with MP3, but only after the software has converted the files into Sony's ATRAC 3 format!
