SBC deal to put Wi-Fi in up to 6,000 McDonald's

As many as 6,000 McDonald's restaurants will be equipped with wireless Internet or "Wi-Fi" access by next year under a deal announced with SBC Communications.

The announcement Monday by SBC and Wi-Fi group Wayport Inc. will expand the wireless access that McDonald's announced last year for a few major markets.
